This Cookie Policy concerns our website at https://www.safeandinformed.com (the "Website"). It explains the limited use of cookies and similar technologies on the Website.
The Website is a static site. It does not use tracking, analytics or advertising cookies, it does not set its own tracking cookies, and it does not display a cookie banner. It uses only functional local storage in your browser, for example to remember a preference on the feed-suggestion form.
Our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, may set strictly necessary cookies to keep the Website secure and to operate it, and sees your IP address at the network edge as part of delivering the site.
The home page includes a single third-party element, the Google "Add to Preferred Sources" button. When present, it may set Google cookies and is governed by Google’s own privacy and cookie policies. There are no other third-party scripts, and in particular no Google Analytics, tag manager, advertising pixel or similar tracker on the Website. If the button sets a cookie, that cookie is set by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's own privacy and cookie policies. We keep this element configured so that it does not load or set any non-essential cookie until you actively interact with it.
The Website offers a form through which you can suggest a feed. The optional free-text note is limited to 500 characters, is reviewed before publication, and we ask you not to include personal data. Submissions are anonymous; your IP address is used only transiently to prevent abuse (around two hours) and is not stored with the submission.
The Safe & Informed mobile application is native and does not rely on the Website’s cookies. When you read an article inside the App, the publication’s own page and its cookies apply, not ours. This Cookie Policy is about the Website only.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Because the Website sets no tracking cookies, this mainly affects the strictly necessary and third-party cookies described above.
