# Safe & Informed: press fact sheet

What it is. A news reader for the sources you choose. Add RSS feeds from any publisher, then read them in a clean reader or listen to them. Listening is free with the device's own voice; Pro adds a natural AI voice that reads short summaries.

Developer. Safe and Informed S.R.L., Bucharest, Romania. An independent app built by one person, with no outside funding.

Launch. October 2026, on the App Store and Google Play.

Platforms. iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and CarPlay. Android phones and tablets, Wear OS and Android Auto.

Price (US prices; they vary by country)
- Lite: free, with contextual ads only.
- No Ads: $2.99 a month. The free app without advertising.
- Pro: $12.99 a month or $119.99 a year. Adds the natural AI voice, AI summaries, Radio, the Daily Briefing and 150 AI-voice plays a month, with optional packs of extra credits. Purchased credits never expire.

What it does
- Any RSS source, plus a community directory to start from. Organise by topic and country; import from another reader (OPML).
- Read-aloud for every article: free with the system voice, or a natural AI voice on Pro.
- Radio turns a category into a continuous station. The Daily Briefing has a beginning and an end.
- Coverage shows how different outlets headline the same story, side by side.
- Magazine view opens photo-heavy feeds as a cover, contents page and full-screen spreads.
- Podcasts next to the news, offline downloads, and an archive with folders, tags and notes.
- 22 interface languages, including Arabic and Hebrew (right-to-left), plus on-device translation of articles.
- Widgets, Siri and App Shortcuts, Apple Watch, Wear OS, CarPlay and Android Auto.

Privacy
- No account and no sign-up.
- Recommendations are computed on the device and never uploaded. Analytics are opt-in and anonymous.
- The free plan shows contextual ads only: no advertising ID, no cross-app tracking.
- For AI summaries and the AI voice, the article text goes to an AI provider with nothing attached that identifies the user. The system voice sends nothing out.
- AI-generated audio and text are labelled "Made with AI" in the app, and anything AI-made can be reported from inside the app.
- Discover and Ask send personal data (your feeds and interests) to an AI provider, so the app asks for permission first and names the providers. Saying no keeps Discover working with the community directory.
